How can I fix my Leisure Gourmet GRB6CVC oven?

The oven handle of the main oven door has detached at one end. The screw has come loose and hopefully just needs replacing but it has dropped down inside the glass in the oven door and I can`t see how to remove this. Can you advise how I remove the oven door glass please, the manual doesn`t even look like the same cooker and I`m scared of causing damage if I follow the wrong instructions. Thanks

Removing the inner glass is the big challenge, it is held in by two clips at the top. These clips can be opened using pupose made wedges (https://www.leisure-parts.co.uk/ice-scraper/product.pl?pid=2901172) these push inbetween the glass and the frame and force the clips to yield. I used two kitchen knives. Once the clips are undone the glass lifts out quite easily.

Thank you Graham Moger!

I've spent all day on this oven, initially seeking to replace the element, but even that job is way more difficult than it should be on this model, given that you have to remove the back of the oven (being careful not to slice your fingers off on the edges!) to get to the element screw heads!

Once I'd completed that job, the wife mentioned the oven door handle was loose. Fixing that took twice as long as replacing the element, after struggling to get the oven glass out!

To anyone else out there, the manual's description of how to do it is fairly useless. However, it can be done, but it's fiddly and time consuming (for a novice DIY'er!).

Still, at least we can have our roast dinner now!

To access door handle screws:

1. Open oven door and remove inner glass. This is done by inserting a long, thin engineer's screwdriver through the two access points (one on each side) on side frame (correct points are indicated by the two directional markers on glass), and gently lift the top edge of the glass by prising the two hidden pegs out of their retaining catch. Make sure the screwdriver blade is inserted far enough so that it engages with the plastic of the peg plates and not the glass. The inner glass is then lifted upwards out of the bottom corner clips.

2. Remove the black metal retaining clamp at the bottom of the middle glass by removing the two screws. Carefully slide the middle glass out of its metal upper retaining frame.

3. The two screws holding the door handle are now accessible.

how to fix the handle on my leisure gourmet it has come loose

I had the same problem until I looked up Beko which is apparently the same as Leisure. Anyway, I found this web page...

and it worked. I still had to remove the door and a metal plate at the bottom which holds the middle glass panel. A little over complicated for screwing the handle on.
