Leak in ford KA?

I have a 2002 1.3 ford KA luxury. It's been a little beauty until the horrendous rain we've been having. After leaving my car parked on a curb (slanted) on 19th October and not using it till the Tuesday I noticed a foul smell, when looking around the car I noticed a puddle behind drivers seat. I thought I may have left my window open slightly however my step dad says there was too much water in the car for it to have been that. When driving my car i noticed that drivers door seal was soaked compared to passenger and that some water was dripping on my hand. Could it be the seals? In the mean time I've bought a cover for my car to keep it protected from the rain. Saturday I decided to park my car facing upwards on my drive (which is a slight hill) and left the cover off. Sunday morning there was a puddle in drivers footwell and behind. Where could it be coming? I hope it's something simple and not going to cost me the earth!

Bet it's coming threw the door membrain, plastic seal behind door card, usually after repair work or just aged,,

Clo,
You are on the right track with using the hose to find the leak. One of the weak areas on the Ka is corrosion at the point the windscreen pillar joins the wing, this can cause leaks down into the footwell; also the windscreen seal on my sister's leaked in a similar way as you've described. Keep looking!

Earlier I sat in my car while getting the hose pipe on it. Was no leak coming from door seal. However, I did see water coming from the top right hand corner just above where the accelotator is? When we looked in the bonnet we noticed that there was some blockage just by the windscreen wash (i think! I really am useles when it comes to cars) I'm not sure if maybe it could be the pollen filter?

Hi,

Seals do become perished and cracked with age so it is worth checking the condition of door and window seals. One area to check is the seal around the rear light cluster, on many ford models it often leaks which allows water to run under the carpet from the back of the car into the footwell. If you can feel a trail of damp carpet from the light cluster to the footwell use some silicone sealant to fix the leak.

Cheers
