It won't start and I have confirmed there is no spark at the plug or at the end of the HT lead. This is the two stroke 720watt model and if anyone has ideas for the next step I would be very grateful. If anyone has a manual for this model it would possibly be a huge help.

check the on off switch, or join the 2 wires together to eliminate the switch.ie!!! l had a faulty switch.

The market is flooded with these Chinese generators under several brand name. It can be purchased at Harbor Freight for $89 on special. Sounds like your magneto is bad (that is what creates the spark) Doubt if you'll be able to find one in the states. Flywheel has to be pulled to replace. You'll tie up a Saturday afternoon if you have the tools and puller needed. Buy another one with a warranty.
