speaker SOUND gone -intruder alarm?

we had a power cut last night setting off all the alarms on the estate. My alarm went off, made the most unusual noises. Up till now there have been no problems with it in 13years! power was off for about half an hour but I only noticed today that I could not set the alarm when I went out. the room sensor lights are working but there is no mains or lights on the panel though the numbers do illuminate when pressed?? What is the problem?? I have tried to find contacts to 'Wares' with out success. (securit 800L control panel)

You know what bugs me Alarm?,

Folk shelling out good money to a so called "Yale installer" and it's basically a fecking DIY system.

Inferior DIY tat.

EXCUSE me !! is there any need for rudeness? Did I say it had not been serviced? I have not had a problem after power failure over that time. But thank you for helpful advice from others. I have arranged for an engineer to reset it so do not need any further input -sarcastic or otherwise.
13 unlucky for some eh!

To "PMSL"
Yes a "non Serviced" lasting 13 yrs on one hand looks better than a "Serviced".
However anything worth keeping should be looked after.
Do you not have tools you service? Your computer/laptop, do you never clean that out and run "Service programs" ?

Then again you probably have a yale alarm, and use a 3 lever lock on your front foor

Wendy I don't mean to be rude but what is a tenner every 5 years? Nothing. It could even be a tenner every 7-8 years if the batteries a soldier

I've said this before and I will say it again

1)£10 to keep your alarm healthy

2)£800-900 for a brand new system

I think Id rather go with choice 1

Unfortunately branchgain/wares are no longer trading, but a replacement battery as gts has suggested should get you up and running again.

Batteries should be replaced every three to four years or five max,so your's is clearly overdue.

The money saved over the 13yrs for not having it serviced will buy her a new one.two ways of looking at it!!!

13 years without a service..........
And you wonder why it finally gives up.

Still, it is only the alarm.
