sam4s er-5200m void mode closed?

Nothing working not even receipt feed. Do have mouse poop on motherboard and guessing it's shorted out. Is it worth replacing it and the other two boards. How much will it cost for new boards. Please help.

Believe it or not but if you can remove the mother board, then get a very soft brush and clean the whole board with a mild detergent and water. Then blow dry the board. Next let the board sit standing up for several days. By that time the board will be completely dry and ready to be reinserted in the register case. You cannot hurt the mother board as all parts are completely sealed. Just make sure the board is dry before applying electricity to it. After the board is back in you may have to do an 'initial clear' to get it going again. After initial clear you will probably have to sign on a clerk or nothing will work without a clerk signed on. To do an 'initial clear' on the ER-5200 register turn the power switch on the right, rear side of the register to the off position. Turn the key to the 'P' (Program) position. Press and hold the 'SBTL' key down. Turn the switch on the rear to 'on'. A second later release the 'SBTL' key'. Printer prints "Initial Clear OK". Turn key to 'R' (Register) position and sign a clerk on.

I'm assuming you have tried signing a clerk on (thats what closed means). Otherwise, it may well have been damaged by the mouse. The droppings aren't too bad. It's the urine that really kills the boards. Would be very costly to replace the board.
