ford transit.2001 ,2-0 tdci front wheel drive only starts on easy start?

my 2001 ford transit was having intemitent starting probs but will only start on easyvstart now but once started runs and drives spot on once stared head gaskett fine loads of compression

Have you checked out the heater plugs below the inlet manifold?I think there were issues regarding chaffed wiring looms and also the individual plugs themselves would need checked out.
