If it doesn't start using the correct procedure (i.e. not touching the accelerator pedal) it may be flooded. While continuing to operate the starter VERY GRADUALLY AND SLOWLY push the accelerator pedal down. You may find that this will clear the flooded combustion chambers and enable it to fire. Once you get it running keep it going until the engine gets up to normal running temperature.
