when the prog finishes the "end" light comes on with the prog light and will stay in this position till you turn off the machine. The dishwasher cannot continue to heat as the heater is enclosed in a chamber underneath the machine operated by a pressure switch from the pump output, so pump stops heater stops. when machine ends dishes will have a residual heat of 65 deg.
