How can I mend my dishwasher Hotpoint Aquarius DF61?

A Hotpoint Aquarius DF61 will not empty properly leaving scummy water at the bottom of the dishwasher and also leaves dirt on the dishes.

It was suggested that I clean the pump under the filter as sometimes this becomes blocked. Need to unscrew small section to clean deeper and this will allow you to mop up dirty water and clear fins.
