I have a Simpson Encore 555 Heavy duty 5.5 kg Top Loader washing machine and it won't spin dry? It makes sounds like it want's to spin but nothing happens. It did used to squeak whilst spinning for a few weeks before it stopped working. I had the water pump replaced about a year and a half ago and i believe at that time there was no noise whilst in the spin cycle.

Could be any one of a number of reasons. Brake not releasing, PCB fault, bearings seized. Nobody can tell without being there to see and hear what is going on. If you can't figure it out yourself from what you can see and hear happening or give a better description of the symptoms then you will need to call out a service company.
