Do I need a replacement drive shaft ???

My vauxhall agila lost all drive as i was driving, upon inspection i realised that the passenger side drive shaft had poped out and managed to push it back in to get home ,do i need another drive shaft or is the fault due to something else happening?? any help appreciated .

some vauxhalls i have worked on have a spring between inner joint and shaft,if this is missing/broken will allow shaft to disengage from gearbox.

Have had driveshafts pop out of these g/box`s but not these models, the driveshaft should have a circlip on the g/box end,the ones I experienced were faulty diffs resulting in replacement g/box`s but you could try replacing the driveshaft,it should click into place and shouldn`t be able to be pulled out.

drive shafts just don't pop out mate they held into the gear box with two or three bolts and into the hub with a captive nut
