Why won't Lamona 1761 induction hob not work?

We have tried disconnecting from mains. Holding minus button and still nothing happens. Help

Sorry if this is obvious, but i don't know if this hob is new to you, the hobs will not work if they do not have any pans on them. Also the pans must be made of steel that a magnet can stick to. Cheers
