I came home yesterday evening and noticed the strobe on the bell box flashing but no alarm,on entering the house all appeared fine but on inspection of the alarm the tamper light was on and making a faint bleeping sound.I also noticed that none of the red dots on all three sensors were lighting up either,a friend at work this morning informed me that the onboard battery may have failed and advised a replacement which is now fitted.The Tamper light is now off with the mains and day lights lit but still no red dots on any sensors.The alarm fails to set lighting all zones and just sits there bleeping,can also reset it no problems with my code then # button.Not sure what to do now,can anyone help a single mum on benefits out as I can not afford to pay the ridiculous prices charged.

There's defo 1A battery fuse on the board???.
Follow the battery leads back to the board and you can't miss it,test it.

Have you heard the bell box ringing at all?,infact have you ever tested the bells?.

That panel is around 17 years old so it's overdue a meeting with mr bin,besides even if the battery fuse was intact it wouldn't be acting in the way you describe.

Thanks gts,the battery is new and connected the same way as the old one but tomorrow we will try and borrow a test meter.Thank you for your help.X

have you made sure the new battery is connected the right way round?red to red black to black ?you have lost the 12 dc supply to the sensors you need a test meter to check the dc power to see if your getting 2 to 13.5 volts,we don't use these panels as they are budget ones ,its a 5 minute job to test it ,is mains power back on ?

We have no fuses gts,anything else we can check.
The power light and day lights are now off but the
Tamper light is lit but very dim now and the bleeping has returned?.

sounds like the dc output fuse has gone inside the panel,turn mains power off and check the fuses
you need to check them with a test meter not just look at them
