how to find fault with my ford fiesta?

while drving home this morning car started to slow down, warning lights started to flash on dash then car cut out and now will not start

If this is a van then I am guessing it has a 1.8 diesel engine,the filter heads on these were bad for packing in,also the fuel heater next to the fuel filter caused problems and also worth a look are fuel pipes in and around the engine bay for chaffing

Auxiliary belt broken? Alternator failure? Battery failure.... you haven't told us much about the car so we don't have much to go on do we.

Petrol or diesel? Have you checked you've got fuel? How many miles? Age? When last serviced and by whom?

Is it a car or a van - you have posted in the Vans section yet refer to it as a car.
