How can I replace door spring and cable on my Kenmore 110.86864800 dryer?

How do I replace the door spring and cable
ray, November 2006
Take the lint screen out and remove the two screws that are under the cover of the lint screen. Lift up the top of the drier.

attach the cable to the spring. Put the end of the spring (the side closest to the spring coils) and then dangle the cable near the cable hole. Use needle nose pliers to pull the end of the cable through the cable hole. DON'T LET GO OF THE SPRING.

Put the end of the cable through the large hole in the keyhole slot and slide into the small side of the slot. Replace the plug in the large end of the keyhole slot.

Now take the end of spring that you have been holding and slide it through the square hole in the top of the dryer. Slide the end of the spring through the small round hole next to the square hole.

Close the top of the dryer. Replace the two lint trap screws and replace the lint screen.

CONGRATULATIONS.
