reprogramme ford focus?

my friend has a 2005 ford focus.Her battery went flat on her fob she has replaced it but fob won't work.I have tried doing the turn key 4 times wait for the beep then press button on fob wait for beep then wait 10 secs and try remote all to no joy.Is there another way of doing it as it is annoying the hell out of me.
