How can I stop the sparking igniter from clicking on my Creda gas range?

On my Creda gas range, the igniter keeps ticking every 3 to 5 seconds, even though the burners are all turned off. Every burner ignites and burns normally when the knob is depressed and the gas is turned on. What can be the cause, and can it be fixed? How? Creda GH 100 Built-in cook top.

I had to disconnect the electrical and use matches.

1. most probably you'll have to replace a spark module
2. one of the switches might be stuck and that makes the c/rt sparks - replace switches.
