Gardtec cpx lost chime yet again?

Over the the last 12 months I've had an engineer out no less then 8 times because my cpx has lost the dual tone door chime. This has become expensive at £105 for each call out.

The code I have only seems to arm and Unset the system,so I can't get to enable the chime myself. The system was installed by salts security then taken over by cat security about three years ago.

The system is not on contract service anymore so I would like to find out the master code so I can enable the chime again. The chime is very important to me as a shop owner but cannot turn it back on.

Can anybody tell me the master code for the cpx please?.

e manno,i never understand how stupid or tolerant people can be,i mean this poor guy has been shafted by his alarm company this I find very hard to understand, you would think a brain cell would cut in and ask questions or maby am just simple minded

Try 5678.
Or 1234 it may not be as secure as you think.

Have you got the user manual?.

Salts are legit and well established, the same can't be said for the latter.

I've heard this story under similar circumstances many times when engineers simply revisit time and time again when the panel needs replacing.

Your panel SHOULD of been replaced!!!!.

I'm with gts here "as always" he knows his stuff, and like me swear by the reliability and user friendliness of scantronic. As said you could always ask for the master code or get them back to change or give you the code then f**k them off.

Don't pay them either, say you put cheque in post then boot him out.

Can't believe you have let this carry on :(

one more thing don't think much of your alarm company or their engineers if they cant find out why the chime goes off by itself it should have taken one visit to fix,not 8 they milking you like a cow

the scantronic 9651 is brill and the chime is set by the user ,you can turn it on and off at will don't need engineer call out,but then again scantronic very reliable

you paid 0ver £800.00 ??my friend you really need your head examined, you could have gotten a good alarm system for that money and you would have full control over it

John why oh why do you not ask the engineer for all the codes when he comes around??.It's your alarm so codes are for you to set NOT HIM!!.get him out and get the codes. they are withholding numbers so they can charge you and this isn't right
