I have a ford transit x reg long wheel base diesel van , I found oil in the water header tank , took it out with a cloth but it keeps coming back , then the engin overheated after top small hose started to leek under pressure from the water took off radiator cap & water with oil gushed out like a geyser .Can you tell me what to do to fix it .Engin is still running but on three cylinders .

Is this a 2.4 l duratorq? Done a few oil coolers on these and is a known fault on these. The oil softens and deteriorates the coolant hoses through time and you may have hose problems for some time in the future, if they feel soft and perished then replace. You could try some detergent in the coolant system, run the motor for a day, drain then refill with water and more detergent and do this a few times, it is nigh on impossible to get rid of all the oil but the oil cooler is expensive and you could try a scrappy for a used one, as the previous answer said it may be the gasket itself but the cooler is something worth looking at. Good luck
