If anything is sticky, damp or have any trace of liquid, clean with rubbing alchool. Let the alchool drip off or absorb it with some lint free material. Let the rest of the alchool time to dry out.
Inspect all contacts. You may need to disconnect components. Do that ONLY one component/contact at a time. Be VERY carefull here. It's beter to work under a lighted work-shop stile magnifier as some connectors are small to very small.
Make sure that all aonnectors are clean and don't show any sigh of corosion. Clean if needed. Reconnect.
Never again let any liquid within 1m from the computer.
A very good method for drying out electronics is the rice bed: Drain as much water as possible and dry out the exterior. Place the device on a layer of rice 2 to 3 cm thick (about an inch), and pour some more rice over it to totaly cover it to a depth of about 2 cm. Let it rest overnight. The rice will have sucked all water out by that time.
