my machine doesnt spin after changing bearings?

I have changed my bearing with a new kit, but ones I put it together it doesn't spin on the spin cycle but it does drain the water.
Any ideas of what is wrong?

Make sure the brake solenoid is plugged in properly. Was the brake release ok before the bearing job? If plugged in ok & was working before the disconnect the cable and try it on spin cycle and watch to see if the cable pulls in. If not then either the release solenoid is faulty or there is no power being supplied to the brake solenoid.

Then it must be binding up on something. Maybe the bearings are not fully home in there holder that would make the space for the gearbox too small and tighten up the gearbox. You can prove that by loosening off the bolts holding the lower support plate and see if it is easier to turn. If it is then you will need to dismantle it again & press the bearings fully home in the bracket.

I have done that, that's the only way you can turn it, but even with the brake arm up it doesn't turn freely like it should.

Lie the machine down so you can access the pulley area. Find some way to pull the brake arm away from the clutch and some way to keep it away. Then rotate the drive pulley anti clockwise and see if the gearbox & shaft turn. It will be hard to turn because of the weight of the inner spin bowl still attached but you should be able to turn it ok. If you wanted to you could take off inner spin bowl and then try & it should revolve easily.

The agitator works fine both ways, the brake released the first time I switched on. The machine works normal and when it comes to the rinse and spine and the drain and spin; it drains but it doesn't spine.
I 've noticed that when I join the drive shaft to the top bracket where the top bearing is, the shaft spin freely but when I screw it to the bottom of the bucket it very hard to turn. Do you think that it might be the problem? and if so what might be wrong? I think that the two plates where the two bearings go mite not be strait and there for doesn't line up properly so the shaft can spin freely. Thanks

Does the motor start and agitator move both ways when on wash cycle after filling? Does the brake release on spin cycle after the water drains out? You will hear it when it pulls the brake arm away and then if you lift the lid you will hear it drop back in to place. If you hear the brake releasing what happens next? Do you hear the motor start up or nothing at all?
