how do I set engine timing on Renault megane 1600 1997?

I need to know how do I set camshaf timing and what position the engine . Should it be TDC or Bottom dead center

Some motors set the crank at 90degrees,some at TDC,it is essential you set the timing correctly and to be sure would purchase a manual for your settings/torques etc
