Mini Cooper '05?

My Minis Key Remote wont work, wont unlock/lock etc, only way is to physically unlock the drivers door...battery is supposedly a 'recharging life time' one & cant be changed...have checked fuse box beside passenger footwell fuse is 20amp for locks but is ok.....not a major issue but would be good if i could sort this

UPDATE......reprogrammed the remote key by sitting in car/pressing remote buttons in designated sequence etc...so now all the doors will unlock apart from DRIVERS DOOR.....my guess is the solenoid mech is actually faulty, had exactly the same problem on my Freelander....can anyone confirm!!?? Thanks
