The modulators are pretty reliable ,as you mention somewhere else the wiring is an issue,as once was the electronic booster ..Since DAF only say engine warning ,transmission warning ,ebs warning ,ecas warning..etc .the only real course 90% of the time is to get the code read ,which will save a huge amount of time guessing..As one code can have multiple faults that cause it

The problem with the AS tronic boxes are the modulator on the top of the box, sometimes a bad connection as there are 2 multi plugs to it, try undoing them cleaning and refit this might cure it,
