why does my chainsaw keep cutting out?

I have a garden line 45cc petrol chainsaw, model nr: GPCS46Z.
Worked fine the first time but when I tried next day the motor just kept cutting out, I tried readjusting the spark plug gap and it worked for 1 minute but then stopped again, what can it be?
I followed all the given instructions about choke and petrol feed but it just wont stay on!

Try a new spark plug as well as a new fuel filter and clean the air filter. Check that the HT lead is not damaged and your getting a decent spark. Also the earth wire from the off switch. If theres been old petrol in the saw drain and use new. If the fuel filter is old it could be dirt in the carb. I know from experience if its a walbro carburettor there is a small fine gauze which can get silted up. Undo the large single screw and remove the top plate and carefuly remove the rubber seal. Another thing if theres been water in the petrol it can sit there and stop the fuel.
