I've got a mk4 xr3i cab with rs turbo in its won't start from cold I have to bump it then wen worm will start off the key but have to keep the revs up or will just die out then wen cold won't start agen but but also every time I turn the key it fires to start but don't then turn off then turn to try agen fires to start then don't same every time unless worm runs fine just have to keep the revs up a lil bit any idears plz

Does it run ok when it starts. do you know if the timing is set correctly. On the back of the inlet manifold there is a temperature sensor for the cold start i think its brown with brown 2 wire plug. Have you had any plugs leads rotor arm and cap recently . Did this problem just start or did you buy the car as it is now.

Yea its the 3i with rs turbo been put in I've got it runnin today by bumpin it got it tickin over now but still won't start from cold unless u bump it an it fires and trys but won't go

Do you have an XR3i with an RS turbo engine fitted or a XR3i thats turbo charged . The XR3i uses a K- Jetronic injection system and the RS Turbo uses the Ke Jetronic. There is a air bypass screw on the throttle body if you turn it out the engine will idle faster. To adjust the co for idle speed there a 3mm hexagon in the air filter housing that you have to adjust.
