I have a Hotpoint first edition dishwasher that has not been used for some years. I have installed it and all is fine but it does not pump water through the washing impellers.

If the wash motor is not running after being in storage for a long period the usual problems are:- 1) the shaft seal faces have dried out and stuck together ... turn the idle end of the motor to release the seal. 2) the motor capacitor is faulty ( they can deteriorate in storage if not electrically charged for a long time.)
