hi there, i was just wondering how many 16ohm alarm speakers you can have on a panel, do 16ohm alarm speakers draw a lot current on the panel, how many milliamps are they approx thanks,
okay i took a reading and it says o.130, which i assume is 130ma,which is more than okay for this panel, i tested the alarm and it worked without any bangs :)
i have connected only one speaker to the system which is extremely loud which is good enough for me, the great old 9600 eh thanks for the help

The 9600 must have at least one 16 ohm speaker fitted but why not fit two 16 ohm speakers in series. This will halve the current used. V=IR so I=V/R. Assuming a 12V drive, one speaker could draw 750mA and two could draw 375mA. In reality it is usually less.
Why don't you take some readings?.

could i buy 100ma fast blow fuse 1.25ma and 150ma fuse and whichever blows or not i could have some idea how much current the the 16 ohm speaker draws?
what do you think cheers

the 9600 output is 1250ma on the aux circuit if that helps? thanks

hi there thanks for answering is there a reason for 2, how many milliamps does a typical 16 ohm speaker draw from the 9600, is there a way to measure the speaker only. do they draw around 100ma?
ps i only plan to install one to the system, its just the ohms law is somewhat misleading because it say the speaker will draw 750ma which cant be right, what are your expert opinions thanks

You can have a MAX of 2 16 ohm speakers.
Or use a relay and PSU and fit as many as you like.
