How can I fix c max problem with bouncing locks. ?

I have just bought my 54 focus c max 1.6 LX and it opens fine but wen I try locking it just bounces? My handbrake light is stuck on dash and my indicators/ hazzards don't make a sound or light up in dash? Any ideas or common faults would help as I'm at a loss! Thanks.
