How do I remove the rotor from my Fisher Paykel GWL11?

The machine is trying to go through the cycles. During the rinse it makes a noises but nothing is happening. Then it starts the fast spin. I turned it upside down and manually moved the rotor and it seems to get stuck a little. Shouldn't it spin freely?

No it doesn't spin freely. It will feel lumpy and stiff to rotate because the rotor is lined with magnets which are there to propel the rotor around. Put it on rinse or spin and wait for it to start beeping. Read the lights along the top row from left to right and write down exactly which lights are on and which are off. That is the error code. Post it back here for advice.
