206 peugeot 2004. automatic gear fault is always coming up ,tried stpping car and restarting but not always successful.

Could be confused management system which thinks there is a fault.
However there could be a fault get it checked by a Peugeot agent( expensive) or local trusted garage. it will cost more if you ignore it.
