DELONGHI DFS 903?

Weird one. Certain oven settings don't work. With the lamp as setting 1, going clockwise;
1. Lamp
2. Top & Bottom element heat.
3. Top element heats
4. neither heats - oven cold
5. neither heats - oven cold
6. Top element heats
7. neither heats - oven cold
8. Top & Bottom element heat.
As you can see, nothing wrong with the elements, it's just become impossible to have only the bottom element on without the grill, making it impossible to cook anything without burning the top of it! Unfortunatly lost manual as well, so unsure how to get in behind the clock, or get the top off, although I managed to get the back of it off this evening, but unable to get in any deeper!

Any help would be gratefully welcome, as unsure what part is broken, and how to get in to find out.

Thanks,

Jon

This advise assumes you have electronical knowledge & qulifications if not consult an electrician.

Will not be held responsible for bad advise or bad spelling

I have the same problem you need to remove back panell then remove 4 screws from the upper part of end brackets (2 each side). then after you have removed all hob parts you must take out all small cross head screws from around each gas burner, then the top can be removed. Now you will see the selector switch that when operated from front knob should energise the various elements in different combinations
with multimeter check outputs, you may find that the contacts inside selector switch are burnt out in certain combinations with loss of supply to certain eliments. If so replace this switch. On my oven the circular fan element will not work on full oven setting but will work on fan assisted grill. have not found who supplies parts yet but this is where I have found fault.
Hope this is of help.

sounds like your fan element is gone. you have 4 elements top bottom grill and a circular one hidden at back about size of dinner plate/side plate. You can take back off and get to it. To take top off, take off grill and burners. then down left and right 3 screws and at back where braket is that supports vertical piece 50mm high at back of hob. whole top lifts off then. Has hob been cleaned recently? I found if too much water is used leaks thought biggest burner onto main switch unit! this can cause shorts. Take back off and test resistance of coil element. all above with power disconnected of course!
