Hi i have a 53 reg clio, the dynamique model and cant seem to turn them off when the car is running. As soon as i start the car the lights come on and they only seem to go off when i stop the car and take the keys out of the ignition. This is handy when it is dark but when it is broad daylight it is a nightmare

You don't say if you have the sidelights switched on. If they are on then your car has a dim/dip feature. That is to say when the sidelights are on and you start the car the headlights will come on. This is to stop you driving on just side lights. Check your lighting switch. Why is it a nightmare? Volvos and Saabs do it all the time.
