open circuit?

hi I have a Peugeot 307 1.4 petrol car has started to misfire fault code read p0200 open circuit had new coil pack spark plugs fitted still the same runs like a bag of spanners how can I test for open circuit diy can not afford garage bills at the mo

thanks for replys / chicksfan I had it diagnosed as faulty injector 1 had this changed but still the same.electro where would you suggest to start first to look for open circuit thanks

Coil pack and plugs will make no difference if a fuel injector is faulty. Replace the faulty injector.

If you get an omhmeter, any open circuit will show infinity or extremely high resistance.
An open circuit means that there is a discontinuity in the circuit preventing the current from passing. It may be a disconnected connector (very easy to fix) or a broken whire (need to replace the whire, or, at least, finding the breakeage and repairing it).

Please note that, even if you successfully correct the problem, the fault will still show. You need to connect the onboard computer to a diagnostic console to reset any and all faults alarms.
