l have replaced the battery and l have started it a few times but it has been sitting for a few months now and won't start

Hi, sounds like the battery has lost its charge over a few months doing nothing, disconnect battery and put it on a battery charger, one that charges at around 0.5 amps per hour for around six to eight hours or over night making sure the battery vent pipe is clear and away from naked flame, or the local bike shop might do it for you if you can't and they'll advise you about servicing.
