How to replace the cord on my iron ?

From the time I purchased this iron the cord just get twisted . Yesterday when I plugged it on to iron it tripped the mains. Now I see the wire protruding. This iron is only 4months old and using for the last 2 months

For many years now electric irons have been designed and made so that users can't get inside easily - usually you have to destroy the iron to get access to the cord ends.

This is a safety measure - usually best to throw the iron away and buy a mid-priced replacement.

Try hard not to damage the cable - just 4 months wear suggests some kind of excessive use - I have never had the cable of an iron wear as you say yours has - most unusual - it will have been rubbing against something - or mice.

first thing you need to do is follow the cord back into the body of the iron, look for screws on the back or top cover ,, were the cable goes into the body of the iron,, unscrew the cover so you can see the cord on the inside, take a photo of it, so you know were the new cord will go, you should see 3 wires red /blue and green. Live ..nutural and earth .they will be screwed into the powerpoint of the iron, you unscrew them and take the old cord away, that the cord to the hardwear store, and get the same braided cable. you can get it longer if its makes ironing work easy for you to plug it in , when your putting the new cord in ,just copy what you have there in the photo.make the screws are tight in the powerpoints, its not a hard job once you get the cover off to see the wireing .. oh and have no power going to it when your working on it,, unpluged.
