how do i stop my temperature gauge going up?

Hi I used steel seal in my fiat punto 1.1 97 reg did everything it said on the bottle now its temperature gauge is now going up near the red ive been told by a friend it could be an air lock or could the head gasket blown all together but the car drives fine.

Radiators fail on these. If it has and you didn't replace the radiator soon enough, chances are you've blown the head gasket.
