My wife has noticed that there's a musty smell coming out of the machine and making the clothes smell, I've checked the outlet pipes and they are fine with no smell, the smell seems to be coming from inside the drum is this possible or is there a way of cleaning it out.
The machine was purchased in 2006 and has never caused us any faults in all this time.

Bugs can grow in the machine especially if it's mostly used on the cooler settings.

Run it empty on a hot setting a couple of times

Run it empty with a bit of bleach or vinegar

Check the household drains just in case - last time our machine had a nasty smell it was coming from the drains.
