I have a mercedes 814 vario havin dificulty starting it when it starts its fine runing but switch off struggle staring again and the engine wont switch off have to strall the engine any help please

fuel drain back for the starting issue, a fuel joint leaking (usually just a bit) but drawing air, tighten all fuel unions first. second problem I expect to be the vacuum stop cylinder, diaphragm probably gone. remove the bonnet cover and you will see it drivers side of the engine toward the rear, it moves with your throttle. it should shorten when you stop the engine.

Is this the Vario ot the T2 which was before the Vario? (pre vario has tickover control knob just below the steering wheel, on the steering column shroud?
