how can I fix my tumble dryer?

Hi I have a hoover six condenser dryer.

The middle 'on' button will not stay in, whilst holding it in the tumble dryer seems to work ok but as soon as I let it go, it stops.

Can anyone help me with whether its the on switch or the timer.
