my new halogen is making a really loud noise have checked fan and its fine. what else could be causing the problem?

If it's new suggest you speak to retailer, over time fats from cooking seem to get drawn up to fan bearing, cured mine with
WD40 or silicon spray, need can with long tube, introduce through upper housing vents onto fan spindle. Only way to get direct to bearing is to dismantle bulb mounting plate, don't recommend unless really need to.
