was mowing with john deere lx172 just quit running , dead?

was mowing with my john deere lx172 it just quit running , it is dead, head light will come on , but nothing else works. battery has been checked by a mechabic it is ok. what can I check?

If it spluttered and stopped then an issue with air or fuel - it it just suddenly stopped dead - an ignition issue.
