Cannon Carrick Gas Cooker Tripping the mains?

My Cannon Carrick double oven gas cooker has worked without any problem for the past two years. Last week it suddenly tripped out the MCB in my fuse box. I've heard that this is a common fault on this model, I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same fault.

If so, I'd love to hear what the problem was. At present I have no use of the oven, the rings and top oven work with a cooker lighter, as the ignition system is totally down. I'd appreciate any help here.

TIA

I have found the parts behind the tin cover at the back, there are two items. One is blue with a part code of BY80016-00 (blue square ish) and another is 003X36 (black, oblong).

There appears to be no burning etc around the item and one report I found on this site (http://howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=272365) says that the spark generator could be disconnected to see if this is the faulty item.... but not how to 'remove' it :-) Hope this is of some use to someone!

We have a Cannon Chesterfield and the exact same problem has occurred. Doing some research I have found an excellent suggestion that it could be a faulty spark generator, which I will explore as soon as I can get to the back of the gas cooker!
