saxo 2000?

Help!!
My saxo has been awesome til this week, the engine light is on, battery keeps dying and indicators keep ticking.

I bet the battery is on its last legs then. I'd fit a brand new one of the correct type and specification.

We have a Peugeot 206 (same PSA group type of car) and that came up with spurious warnings when the battery was 6-7 years old. A brand new quality battery cured everything. No further symptoms or warnings since. £60 well spent.

Probably 5/6 yrs old

How old is the battery? More than 5 years old?

The orange engine light that looks like a tap.
Is it an expensive job?

I would get your battery and alternator tested, you don't say what light symbol is on, if it is your engine management light then it will need to go onto a code reader also.
