How can i fix my vokera 28, pressure reading zero but still working ?

How do I know my expansion vessel is working .pressure reading is zero when the heating is off.

Raise pressure to 1bar,turn heating on,if pressure rises to 2 or 3 bar the expansion vessel needs recharging,it should only rise by 1/2 bar at most
