Took DC23 apart bcause it would not turn on. ?

Both wires to the switch seem hot. Can this be correct?

cable will be broken where it goes into the machine, common fault

The wires at the switch should not be hot. And they're unlikely to be hot if the machine's not operating.

Forget the switch - cut off and throw away six inches of cable and the plug - fit a new plug - 80% chance that it's a fix.

Ten minutes work and the cost of a new plug - what could be easier?

Bet you £10 it solves your problem.

Good luck..., December 2014
