Samsung w/m SW50USP - doesn't pump water in. If I add water via the sink tap to required level it goes through cycle but then stops at rinse again.

Faulty water inlet valve, faulty wiring or faulty main control board. Take your pick, it could be any one of those. Presuming of course that you have turned the tap on.
