My Dyson DC07 cuts out every few minutes and the filter is always dirty?

My Dyson DC07 cuts out every few minutes, suction is not what it was either, not swirling.Husband has dismantled it a couple of times and cleaned out cyclone with air jet. Only helps briefly.Filter is always filthy, have now bought another to have one in the machine and another drying. Was reading a previous string and some people mention another filter.Where is it and how do I get to it?Also did any one find a spare thermal cut out switch and was it hard to fit. Thank you.

Clean or Replace the filter(s) and check the Cyclone, ports and hose for clogs. The reason why the dyson may be cutting out is a thermoprotector on the motor. When there is no suction, The motor gets hot due to lack of adequate ventilation. When this happens, the thermoprotector cuts the power to the motor to avoid a fire hazard due to overloading.

the filter at the side is washable. If you remove the canister and cyclon assy the other filter is located underneath the grid this could be a hepa type which is lifetime or s class which you replaced yearly
