black buildup at the base of an injector?

hi all, I have a 2008 1.6l hdi diesel citroen c5 and just discovered what looks like melted black stuff ( not much ) at the base of one of the injectors, car is running fine and nothing seems to be loose, can anyone shed some light on this for me please.

start motor and spray some wd40 at injector base and check if there is any blow past from the cylinder,if there is then it is an injector out job for a new `o` ring/seal
