There is smoke coming from the drum of my Hot point TCD970P?

Appliance has been unplugged and made safe. Almost sure the its caused by a build up of 'fluff' inside the unit. Had tried to remove the top by releasing the two screws at the back, but can find no similar screws on the front. Any ideas?
